Our Story

We met in Brooklyn in 2010, through the kind of overlapping circles that make a big city feel small. There was no grand beginning. Just an easy friendship and years of good company.

Somewhere along the way, the friendship became the foundation. We found our way back to each other in 2022, and what had always been good quietly became everything.

On December 6, 2026, we'll say our vows in San Juan, where Jess's family is from and where so many of the people we love still call home.

Travel & Accommodations

Flights

Fly into Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU). Direct flights from most major US cities. No passport required for US citizens.

Where to Stay

We'll be at the Marriott Isla Verde, right on the beach.
7012 C. Avenue Boca de Cangrejos, Carolina, 00979, Puerto Rico.

Getting Around

Isla Verde is about 10 minutes from the airport. The hotel is on the Avenida Isla Verde strip: the nearest restaurants, bars, and shops are just a few buildings over, with more a short walk down the avenue (or along the beach). For day trips like Old San Juan, El Yunque, or Fajardo, a rideshare or rental car is the way to go (both are easy).

Things to Do in PR

Old San Juan

Cobblestone streets, colorful buildings, and centuries of history. Don't miss El Morro fortress and the cathedral.

Condado & Isla Verde

Beautiful beaches, great restaurants, and a walkable strip of bars and cafés right near the hotel.

El Yunque Rainforest

The only tropical rainforest in the US National Forest System. Waterfalls, trails, and incredible views, about 45 min away.

Bioluminescent Bays

Kayak through glowing water at Laguna Grande in Fajardo. Book a night tour in advance. It's surreal.

La Placita

Farmers' market by day, open-air party by night. The best spot for local food, music, and dancing.

Food & Drink

Mofongo, alcapurrias, piña coladas (invented here). Ask us for our favorites. We have a list.

Beach Formal

Early December in Puerto Rico is warm and breezy. Expect mid-80s °F (around 29°C) during the day and a comfortable mid-70s °F (~24°C) in the evening. Light, breathable fabrics are your best friend. Think tropical elegance.

Beach Formal is formal attire reimagined for the tropics: elevated silhouettes in brighter colors and flowing fabrics, finished with a little beach flair. Picture a coastal escape, dressed all the way up.

The Look

Floor- or ankle-length gowns, an elevated cocktail dress, a chic midi, or a tailored suit all shine here. A dark suit (navy, charcoal, or black) is classic, but a tan or softly colored suit feels right at home on the sand.

Fabrics

Reach for light, flowing fabrics like silk, chiffon, and organza that drape beautifully in the sea breeze. We'd gently steer you away from heavy satin.

On Your Feet

Dressy heels or formal flats, oxfords or loafers. The ceremony is on the beach, so block heels or elegant flats will save you from the sand.

Finishing Touches

Tasteful accessories with a touch of beach flair, like a pocket square, cufflinks, or statement earrings. The small details that add polish.
